Fares charged by independent contractor drivers, who are licensed and permitted by the City of Houston, are regulated by the City. There are no surprise fees. Fares are metered in real-time, and you can estimate your fare before you book your ride so you’ll have a good idea of what you will be charged.
Fare for service to and from Houston airports is determined by zone rates, as specified by City of Houston ordinance. Passengers will be charged the flat zone rate or the metered rate, whichever is less. Get information on Houston airport zone rates.
Current taxi meter rates (effective March 1, 2012) are as follows:

Surcharge for trips originating at Bush Intercontinental Airport
Surcharge for trips originating at Hobby Airport
Surcharge for trips originating between 8pm and 6am
Passengers over 60 receive a 10 percent discount on all fares.
